Valentine’s Day@CSC

Valentine’s Day is a joyous festival which stands for love and romance. On February 14 every year this day is celebrated across the globe. However, this year it was day of double celebrations at CSC it was still within 14 days of the ushering in of Chinese New year.

Members and their special ones present were treated with the special ‘Blessing ‘from our very own GOD of Fortune [Cai Shen], with chocolates in the form of Gold Coins. It has to be noted that for the Chinese Gold Coins bring about good fortune. So all who attended the Valentine’s Day at the club for 2016 had good fortune bestowed on them!! Valentine’s Day is intended to commemorate the martyrdom of St Valentine, a Christian Saint.

However, the religious significance of the festival has diminished and today Valentine’s Day is a global phenomenon celebrated by people who belong to different ages, races and religion.

At CSC the men were seen presenting roses to their ladies in exchange for chocolates while the resident band was at hand to woo up the mood with the iconic song of ‘ MY Sweet Valentine”. In modern day Valentine’s Day is not only restricted in exchanging gifts between romantic couples. It is a day to celebrate love and people wish their friends, siblings, teachers or any other special person in their lives.

We took the opportunity to wish and provide an occasion for all our members and special ones to have a Happy Valentine’s Day at the CSC.

Loving is not just looking at each other, it’s looking in the same direction.
